What is an Afrikyf Week Goal?
One idea to discuss, one action to try and one outcome to share. Here is how the weekly Afrikyf challenge works.
An Afrikyf Week Goal, or AWG, is an invitation to turn conversation into action. Each week, the community gathers around a theme that affects everyday life in Africa. You can share an idea, choose an action within your reach and tell us what you did.
You do not need to belong to an organisation or have a budget. A useful discussion, an individual step and a solution built with neighbours can all matter.
How does the week work?
The active theme changes automatically each week. A new debate question opens every weekday. Questions look at what citizens, public authorities and other people involved can do.
On the Community page, you can answer the debate, explore ways to contribute and report an action you have taken. A photo is optional.
Choose an action that fits
Share an idea, speak to three people, create content, act in your neighbourhood or bring a small group together. There are different ways to take part. Choose what fits your circumstances and the week’s theme. The aim is to do something useful, not to perform for a photo.
Reported actions may earn points after review. Points help track participation; the deeper question is what actually changed.
Why tell us what you did?
Your account helps us measure the reach of the actions, learn what works and share ideas others can adapt. You can simply describe what you tried, where and what happened. Read more about measuring whether an initiative really helped.
Join the community
You can take part in a challenge right away. If you want to follow future themes and meet others taking action, join Afrikyf. Start with this week’s goal, choose one step and tell us what it changed.
